Setup

Start Here

• [ ] Duplicate the complete Personal AIOS into your own workspace and confirm this vault is included.
• [ ] Open Soul and fill in your name, roles, timezone and language preferences. Leave optional fields blank if unnecessary.
• [ ] In your copy, open Soul → ••• → Use with AI → Use as Agent instructions. Alternatively, use Settings → Notion AI → Add Instructions → Use existing page. Review any existing instructions before replacing them.
• [ ] Open Context Map in Artifacts and check every destination opens your copy, not the author's workspace.
• [ ] Open a starter skill and turn on Enable for me. Repeat only for skills you want to use. A database row or Trigger Phrases value alone does not activate a skill.
• [ ] Start a new chat with: Read my Soul and Context Map. Tell me where you would save a task and a note. Do not write anything yet.

Soul

Try Your First Workflow

After checking the destinations, try Task Creator Skill with a harmless action and an explicit work date. Verify its title, Do Date and Done state. Then try Notes Capture Skill with a short non-sensitive paragraph. Review the saved source material. Use a sandbox or your own copy rather than adding test records to the public template.

Plan and Connection Requirements

Core task and knowledge management can be used without AI. AI workflows require access to Notion AI; features and usage allowances depend on the current plan and account. This starter vault needs no external connection or Custom Agent. It does not include background automation, scheduled jobs or automatic cross-client memory. Connect tools only when you choose to use them and review their permissions.

Maintain Your Copy

You own your copy's instructions and data. Update Soul for approved operating rules, Artifacts for references, and Skills for reusable procedures. Keep temporary work in Tasks, Projects and Notes. Enable only useful skills and review changes before using them.

Remember Deliberately

Ask your assistant to remember one specific durable fact or decision. Review what will be saved. Keep proposals distinct from confirmed decisions and preserve the evidence. The database starts empty; use its Memory Entry default template. Saving a record does not guarantee automatic recall in every chat.

Skills

Use a Repeatable Workflow

Choose Browse Skills for the gallery or By Job for grouped management. System is the unfiltered maintenance table. Starter skills cover task creation, notes capture, notes organisation, writing polish and weekly review.

Add Your Own Skill

Create a page using Skill Template. Write a clear Name and Description, add an example request, and define inputs, sources, workflow, output and checks. Review it for private links and unapproved actions. Mark the finished page as a native Skill through Use with AI, then enable it for your account. Test in a sandbox before relying on it for important work. The blank template itself is not an executable skill.
